How I Work

Nick Caldecott
About

My style is warm, open and engaged. I hope to offer clients a suitable environment to explore freely, and in depth.

The world of psychotherapy can be confusing – even to psychotherapists. To put it simply, I am a relational psychotherapist and my approach can perhaps be described as ‘empathic introspective enquiry’.

That is to say, I pay close attention to what you bring to the session, to my own response to that material, and to what emerges between us.

But no theoretical approach supersedes the experience of sitting with an individual. I will take my lead from you, and our work together will evolve from the active role that you take in your therapy.

I recommend a minimum of 12 sessions, and enjoy working with longer term arrangements. But the duration of therapy tends to differ according to each person’s needs, and we can review this as we work together.
